Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ProofSweep, operated by Twisted English LLC (“ProofSweep,” “we,” “us”). By checking the acceptance box at checkout, or by purchasing or using a report, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
ProofSweep provides a document-and-business verification report for a one-time fee. The report describes observable characteristics of the documents you submit and publicly available business records. It is not a background check or a consumer report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and ProofSweep is not a consumer reporting agency. The report does not verify identity, creditworthiness, criminal history, or eviction history, and it makes no determination that any person has committed fraud.
Point in time
Each report reflects only the documents provided and the public records and information available to ProofSweep as of the date shown on the report. Business records, online footprints, and circumstances can change after that date, and ProofSweep is not responsible for changes arising after a report has been delivered. A delivered report is a fixed record of what was provided at that time; corrections are issued as a new report.
Permitted use and restrictions
- You may use a report only as one informational input to your own screening process.
- You will not use, or represent, a report as a consumer report, background check, or for any purpose regulated by the FCRA, and you will not resell or redistribute it.
- You will use the service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable law.
- You confirm you have the right to submit the documents you upload for review.
Your responsibilities
- You understand the report is informational triage, not proof of authenticity or fraud.
- You are solely responsible for any screening decision, and for complying with the Fair Housing Act, the FCRA where applicable, and state and local law — including source-of-income protections. ProofSweep does not make, and is not part of, your decision.
No guarantee; “as is”
Automated and public-record checks can be incomplete or out of date, and sophisticated forgeries may not be detectable. ProofSweep makes no guarantee that a document is genuine or fraudulent, or that a business does or does not exist, and the service is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ProofSweep’s total liability arising out of or relating to the service or any report is limited to the fee you paid for that report. ProofSweep is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including lost profits or losses arising from a screening decision.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Twisted English LLC and ProofSweep from any claims, losses, or liabilities arising out of your use of a report, your screening decisions, or your breach of these Terms — including any use of a report for a purpose regulated by the FCRA.
Payment & refunds
Reports are $19.99, charged at checkout. If a report isn’t clear and useful, email support@proofsweep.com and we’ll refund it. Otherwise, because each report consumes third-party services on submission, fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
Our refund is a one-time courtesy per customer. If you have previously received a refund, any subsequent report you purchase is final and non-refundable (except where required by law) — because returning to buy again indicates the service is useful to you. This keeps the satisfaction guarantee available to genuine first-time users while preventing repeated buy-and-refund abuse.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect when you purchase a report governs that report. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.
